Dr. Sobia Nasim worked as a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Ireland where she led and supervised a multi -disciplinary team of Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Family Therapist, Social Workers and Trainee Doctors.
She completed her basic training in Psychiatry from The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) training scheme in Dublin, Ireland and achieved her MRCPsych. She worked in Child Psychiatry in Brunei for 3 years where she helped develop the Child Psychiatry Service and gained experience of working in a different culture. She returned to Ireland to complete her Higher Specialist Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
She has experience of working in one of a kind Specialist Eating Disorder Service for young people.
Dr. Sobia Nasim understands the values, sensitivity and confidentiality in treating families with mental health difficulties across cultures. She believes young people (under 18) with mental health difficulties need to be treated by a Child Psychiatrist as they require specialized assessment methods including risk assessment and a detailed evaluation of developmental needs before formulating a treatment plan.
She likes to read and spend time with her two daughters when she is free.
Dr. Sobia Nasim speaks English, Urdu, Hindi and Pashto languages fluently.
